Generation Science
As SSE makes big shifts to cleaner, more efficient ways of creating energy, we need to invest in the next generation to help us power positive change. That’s why promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in young people is so important to us.
We sponsored Edinburgh Science’s ‘Generation Science’ project, which provides unique science experiences and interactive workshops to schools across Scotland.

Edinburgh Science Festival
SSE Energy Solutions was a proud sponsor of the Edinburgh Science Festival, which brings the city together to embrace curiosity through experimentation and innovation.
During the 2023 festival, SSE Energy Solutions’ Operations Director, David Holmes, took to the stage with brilliant young mind Siddarth Shrikanth during the ‘How to save a planet in crisis’ event. Chaired by author and broadcaster Lesley Riddoch, the pair discussed the twin crises of biodiversity loss and climate change.
