Congratulations to the finalists of the first ever Net Zero Leaders award at the Energy Live Consultancy Awards (TELCA) 2020. The winner will be announced at a ceremony online on 11 December.

SSE Business Energy is proud to be sponsoring the brand new Net Zero Leaders award at TELCA 2020. The award is a way to celebrate energy consultants who are making real strides to promote and deliver on net zero solutions for customers.

So we’re excited to see the shortlist unveiled – consultants leading the drive to help businesses cut carbon around the country.

The finalists

The 12 companies shortlisted for net zero leaders are:

  • Amber Energy
  • Brownlow Utilities
  • Businesswise Solutions
  • DB Group
  • Energise
  • ENGIE Impact
  • Envirogy Power
  • Mitie
  • SaveMoneyCutCarbon
  • Schneider Electric
  • Shields Energy
  • YPO

At SSE Business Energy, our mission is to make green energy and low-carbon solutions available to businesses of all sizes across the UK. That’s why we wanted to be a sponsor of these awards to raise the importance of everyone in the energy sector being committed to help make that happen.

Positive trends

Whoever takes the prize, it’s worth highlighting some of the ways the finalists are helping drive change. One key factor in their success is awareness. Employees at the shortlisted companies have been informed and educated about the net zero challenge. Sharing their own company’s low-carbon vision for the future, they’re well equipped to understand customers and lead the way.

Another call-out is the range of solutions on offer. From leading industry net zero forums to implementing engineering or data visualization solutions, they each contribute to our global challenge.

But maybe most encouraging of all is to see how consultants are shifting focus. For some of the finalists, promoting net zero solutions is now their core business.

And the results speak for themselves. Case studies they mention show that low-carbon energy solutions are not just about tackling climate change: they can help cut costs, eliminate waste and bring other benefits to their supply chain and local communities.

For a better world

That’s what we’re working for at SSE – providing the energy we need today while building a better world of energy for tomorrow.

But none of us in the energy sector can achieve the change we need by working on our own. We’re backing the new Net Zero Leaders award to celebrate consultants making a difference, and to further help our united aim to enable customers to easily access net zero solutions.

So it’s a great prize, and we can’t wait to find out who’s won. The winners of all the TELCA awards will be announced at a ceremony to be streamed live at 2pm on Friday, 11 December.

Congratulations once again to the Net Zero Leaders finalists.
