SSE Energy Solutions and Ortus Energy drive solar adoption at Kia Stockton
SSE Energy Solutions and Ortus Energy have announced the development of a solar energy project at Kia Stockton, a dealership located in Stockton-On-Tees. This is the first of many projects between SSE Energy Solutions and Ortus Energy, driving businesses towards renewable and affordable energy solutions.
The project involves installing a 600kWp solar panel system, which is expected to cover around 45% of the electricity at Kia Stockton.
Racing towards net zero targets
Kia Stockton is committed to reducing its environmental impact. The installation of a solar PV system will cut its carbon footprint by 110 tonnes of CO₂ each year, supporting the dealership’s sustainability objectives and contributing to the UK’s net zero targets.

Swerving fluctuating energy prices
SSE Energy Solutions is financing the solar installation through a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Kia Stockton, which will enable the dealership to pay a fixed rate for the power generated over 25 years without the need for any upfront investment.
This gives the dealership access to renewable energy at a predictable price, protecting against fluctuating prices while supporting sustainability objectives.
